I took my first malaria medicine today.  And have been finishing details on packing...  It is going to be cooler in Peru than we thought.  So my packing warm weather, cool weather and hot weather clothes I think will work.  I am relaxing.  It feels so good to be done and ready for vacation.  Love and kisses, Marilyn

I fed/weeded my lawn today.  I really don't agree with the whole idea of that, but my neighbors did theirs and my looks yellowy... hmmmm  Have to keep up with the Jones... I guess.  I do need to weed because my weeds will go over to their yards.

The students looked great and everything went well.  After graduation they took photos in the square and then I went back and finished uploading my grades.  I am a free woman until September 14th.  I am really really looking forward to relaxing, reading and writing.

Matt was questioning my getting the same malaria medicine for Peru as India... But my doctor said she would not give me a prescription... so I had to find someone fast... But I was able to get into the nurse practitioner that Matt uses.  Guess what... she ended up giving me the same prescription of the bottle that I had fished out the trash two days before... Ha. 

I finished grading today.  My grades are up two places, one more to go.  I graded my pre and post tests for three classes and uploaded them, my quarterly report, my comments and attendence records in two places... I think that about covers it.  No wonder I am tried.

The last day went really well.  I was able to put the grades up for one class in one place (we have to post them in three plaeces...   Then I finished grading the renderings.  Then the students did the presentation to the Chief of Police, dog and cat person and four other people.  They were really impressed with the student work.  They chose ten pieces to be displayed in the new Brunswick facility.  I bought refreshments and it was a good event.  Today I have to grade those things.   Then I went to the reception for our graduates.

I am going in to grade what my students did yesterday for Studio III.  Their presentations were great except they lasted four hours and I didn't get time to eat lunch.  Then I will finish my rendering grading for Assignment #9.  Assignment #10 comes in today at 4:30 for the Cat and Dog facility.  I have until Monday to get my grades in, but I want to get them done as soon as possible.  I finished my quarterly review last night, so I am moving forward.  Love and kisses, Marilyn

I am trying to get malaria medicine yesterday and today.  hmmmm  Connie (my sister) told me to throw out my three year old malaria medicine so I did.  Monday morning I was complaining about not putting my trash on the curb.  Yesterday I was digging around in the trash... yes it was not pleasant.. to find the empty bottle to tell my doctor what to order for me... I was laughing and groaning as I was doing it but also going boy I was lucky that I didn't put the trash out.  But the doctor would not write the prescription.   Just as well because it was medicine for India not Peru.  So today I am tagging on an appointment with Matt to try to get the same drug he is getting.  Hmmmm

Matt is having problems getting his shots for our trip.  I got yellow fever and others last week and when he went to get them they were out.  Hmmmm  I called and am getting anti malaria medicine today.  So I am okay... he is going to get some heavy duty bug spray. Hmmm

I forgot to put my garbage out last night... they come by at 7:30, so I will have two weeks of garbage for next week.  Greehhhh

My yard looks so much better after my weeding and edging.  Hopefully I can get the other flower done before I leave in a week...
I go to Peru a week from today. 

I have half of my grading for studio III done.  I have to fill out the rubic and assign the grade.  I will grade in the classroom at school today. Tomorrow the renderings come in...

I have my quarterly report mostly done and comments are done.  So basically grading, recording the grades in three places, doing the attendance records, and finally grading and recording the pre and post tests. I think that is all I have to do before Monday morning at 8:30.  When grades are due.  Hmmmm

Since I just finished repacking for my trip for the third or is it forth time in two weeks.... hmmmmm Last night I looked at the weather at all the places we were going and took out all the cold weather clothes out of my new suitcase... and put in more shorts, two skirts or two and light weight pants... hmmmm It may get cold at night at altitude but during the day it is 69 degress or so... I have a big big problem with being to hot... I can use bug juice to get rid of mosketos but cannot remove too hot pants until I get back to the hotel... I find I am comfortable in shorts in a t shirt at about 68 degrees. 

I went to S*m's Club and bought three pairs of pants that I could wear down there.     

My Juniors hand in their project at 5:00 today.  Then grading over the weekend.  Had dinner with Helena last night at her house.  It was really yummy, fun and relaxing.

I am finally back to sleeping well.  I go to bed at 11:00 read for a while and have been getting up at 8:30.  Although I am waking up sometimes two or three times a night, I am going back to sleep right away.  The last few weeks have been hard because the stress has disrupted my sleep and that only makes everything worse. 

My students are working along at a good clip.  I think that they will finish in a timely manner.  I spent the whole day yesterday working with each group of students reviewing their work to make sure that they were where they needed to be.  I still need to meet with two groups. 

When I got home I was so tired I crashed.  I didn't go to the pool to swim.  (bad girl)  Matt came over to get his birthday present... only two months late... I got him a temp*rapedic travel pillow... Got one for myself too.  They are half size and roll up in to a eight inch by 4 inch log for easy packing.  He loved it.  We had pancakes for dinner and we talked about our trip to Peru (with our friends from Michigan). I made sangria and we laughed a lot about being so sweet.... a sweet drink, pancakes with syrup and strawberries with sugar for dessert. 

Matt ad ordered some clothes on the internet for our trip... he brought over a hat (just like a hat Jason bought in DC, but a different color) and rain resistant light weight jacket... we had to debate whether they would work in Peru.  We think while the hat is quite fashionable he might need something with a wider brim to help block the sun in Peru.  The jacket on the other hand would work great.  Hopefully it won't rain all the time we are there.  I have packed a rain jacket and rain pants for inclement weather.

I put up some of the photos of the Cat and Dog Facility in Homerville GA.  Isn't it great!

At Cindy's, we started the day with breakfast and bringing the area rugs up stairs.  They look great in the house.  We tried a sofa table between the chairs, but it did not look good.  So we decided that Cindy needed a new table, something with the metal of the stair railing....  She also needed some lamps.  So we went to a furniture store.  On the way to one store, we saw one as we sped by.  So we turned around and went back to find it.  It was a great contemporary store called Domos.  We found an sofa/console table that was perfect and found some lamps we think we can use.  So we didn't bother going to another store.  We stopped at a favorite restaurant and came home.

We were both tired do we took a nap and then I got up and went and played and cleaned the leaves out of her pool.  The water was fantastic and I read for a while about the culture of Peru. 

Once Cindy got up, we went back to work and cut out pads to put under the area rugs to stop them from slipping. The upholsterer came by with her chairs and installed them and finished the two sofas.  Then we ate dinner. I started taking photos of the house.  The light was terrific.  Then I went up to the crows nest to take sunset pictures... when I came down Cindy was giving a girl and her father a tour of the house.  She was 11 and really into green information. 

Once they left, Cindy and I then sat in the living room trying to get scrabble to work on her computer, talking and playing on our computers.
A thunderstorm came in and we sat on the porch overlooking the canal and watched the lightening.  All in all it was a wonderful day. Hope yours was great! Love and kisses, Marilyn
